A toss-up is comprised of a lead-in sentence to help the players anticipate the Bible verse from which the question will come, followed by the question itself. This format of lead-in followed by question allows students to be challenged in a fun and unique way to recall the verses they have learned.
Most bonus questions will require a word or phrase answer, while more challenging bonuses may require a perfectly quoted “memory verse” from the text.
Bible Bowl has local round robin tournaments once a month, October through May. In typical round robin fashion, teams will play all the teams in their division for the most number of wins.
Those teams wishing to compete at a national level may also attend regional tournaments in June and a national tournament in July to compete for a national championship title.
Practice times and duration are determined by the team sponsor. While there is no requirement for practice times, a weekly practice of 1 to 2 hours is recommended.
